My name is Vladimir Ilic and currently I am living in Brussels, Belgium. Since I finished my university education in the field of electrical engineering back in 2001, I am full time employed in one of the world’s biggest IT companies. During all these years I am having a great chance to be in touch with latest and greatest technologies in IT world, and today I am focusing on the IT automation technologies. Before automation, I used to work quite a lot in the networking and security areas, with embedded Linux, databases, data mining technologies, .NET developing, etc. All together I can describe myself as quite diverse IT specialist, capable of quickly changing focus on the new technologies and having very solid knowledge in many major areas of information technology.

My interests and hobbies are actually quite similar to my job – I am passionate electronics geek, who is constantly upgrading the AV system, PC, satellite TV system, trying new digital cameras, etc. My friends are all very aware of that, so it is quite usual that at least once in few days someone call me to help fixing problem with their PC or other equipment. I do not mind that and I am quite happy that I can help them, and sometimes it is funny when they come to my place and start asking questions about  all devices and cables sitting in my living room. Very often they do not even understand what for is some black box that is sitting on the shelf, with dozen of cables connected to it. And if they understand what the purpose of particular device is, they simply wonder why the hell I need that… Well, many times I also do not know the answer to that question. Simply, I enjoy playing with the cool gadgets, interesting software and hardware, and in this blog I will try to share with rest of the world some of my findings and things I am doing. I am quite sure that there are many people out there who share common interests with me, and I hope that many of you guys who are reading this will find some helpful advice or tip. I will always try to give an independent opinion, not focusing on describing every technical detail (which you can anyway find in many reviews on Internet). Instead, I will try to describe some interesting, unusual and useful ways of getting the best of your equipment. I believe that majority of articles on this site will be about the satellite TV as already for many years I am sat TV enthusiast, but of course I am not going to limit myself to that topic.

At the end of this introduction, I will mention that this is my first blog – hope that you will like its content, and feel free to contact me if you wish to exchange links or find some article useful.
